Ingredients:
1.Lauki(Bottleguard)-1
2.Mustard oil-1.5 tbsp
3.Mustard seed-1/2 tsp
4.garlic -8 pods
5.Green chilly-3 to 4
6.salt to taste
7.Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
8.Red chilly powder-1/2 tsp
9.Coriander powder-1/2 tsp
10.Tamato-1 medium size
Method:
1.Take 1 lauki/bottleguard (500 gm). Peel it. Wash. Cut it into small cubes & keep aside. Chop the garlic & green chilly & keep aside
2.Heat a pan. Add 1.5 tbsp mustard oil. Let it be heat to its steaming point. Then add the mustard sedds 1/2 tsp & let it splutter.
3.Now add the garlic & green chilly. Mix & saute till garlics become brown
4.Now add the chopped bottle guard. Mix well & saute for 4 to 5 mins.
5.Then add salt to taste, turmeric powder-1/4 tsp,red chilly powder-1/2 tsp,coriander powder 1/2 tsp. Mix well. Cover & cook for 10 mins
When the lauki is half cooked then add the chopped tamoatoes. Mix well. Cover & cook for 12 to 15 minutes more.
7.After 15 minutes, check the lauki/bottleguard is cooked well.
8.Turn off the heat & serve hot with roti,phulka or plain rice.
